About

Our Mission

Ivy League Learning delivers flexible, affordable, accredited coursework that helps motivated students reach academic and professional goals without putting life on hold. We believe that quality education should adapt to students, not the other way around.

Who We Are

Ivy League Learning is an academic organization offering online prerequisite and general education courses designed for nontraditional and self-directed students.

Founded by Tresne McCarty, MSN, RN, CCRN, a critical care nurse and educator, the institution bridges the gap between traditional universities and today’s adult learners seeking credible, flexible pathways to success.

Our courses combine professional instruction, university alignment, and innovative lab simulations to ensure every student receives a learning experience that is both practical and academically sound.

Why Flexibility Matters

Today’s students don’t fit one mold:

  • 40% of U.S. college students are over 25.

  • More than half work full-time or care for families.

  • Nursing program enrollment has declined 16.9%, with cost and scheduling listed as top barriers.

  • Illinois ranks sixth in tuition costs nationwide.

These realities demand a modern approach to higher education. Ivy League Learning was built to meet that need: maintaining academic standards while removing unnecessary barriers.

Our Founder

Tresne McCarty, MSN, RN, CCRN

Educator. Innovator. Nurse.

Tresne McCarty is a certified critical care nurse and nursing educator who built Ivy League Learning after seeing how many capable people were excluded by rigid academic systems. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education, serves as an ACLS and BLS instructor, and teaches as an adjunct instructor at Richland Community College.

Her work has been recognized nationally through the Johnson & Johnson “Future of Nursing” campaign and the Charline Grygiel Leadership Award for her contributions to education and healthcare.

Tresne’s goal is simple: to create a pathway that allows hard-working students to achieve academic excellence without sacrificing their professional or personal responsibilities.

Our Commitment

We hold our students to high standards because we believe in their potential. Every Ivy League Learning course is built to prepare you for what’s next: whether that’s a nursing program, an advanced degree, or a stronger professional future.
