Human Anatomy and Physiology I
4 credits | Fully Online with Virtual Lab | Self-Paced (28 days–6 months)
Course Overview
This course introduces the structure and function of the human body with an emphasis on systems-level understanding. Students explore the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, and integumentary systems while learning how structure and function work together to maintain health.
Through interactive lessons, simulations, and applied assignments, students gain foundational knowledge essential for nursing, allied health, and pre-med programs. Virtual lab components, powered by Pearson simulations, provide practical experience with anatomical identification, physiological processes, and data analysis; all from a flexible online environment.
The course encourages students to think critically about the body as an integrated system. By understanding how these systems interact, you’ll be better equipped to apply this knowledge in advanced science courses and clinical settings.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
Identify major organs and describe their functions within each system.
Explain physiological processes that regulate the body’s internal environment.
Analyze how structure supports function at the cellular and tissue levels.
Apply laboratory findings and observations to real-world biological concepts.
Demonstrate foundational understanding necessary for advanced anatomy and health sciences.
